I can login but I can't post. What should I do?
Important Update January 30, 2009:
- There is presently a bug with Internet Explorer that prevents replying or starting new discussion threads. Please use Mozilla Firefox until further notice. A free download is available here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
- If you have an underscore or other character in your username eg "surf_daddy" you may not be able to login to the new discussion forums. Please submit your ticket if that seems to be the case...
If you are logged in but the forum tells you that you can not post, then you are probably having a cookie problem.To solve this problem, first make sure that cookies are enabled on your browser.
How do I enable Cookies in my browser?
Internet Explorer 6 - PC
- Select Tools > Internet Options from the Internet Explorer's menu bar.
- In the "Internet Options" window, click on the "Privacy" tab and then click the "Advanced..." button.
- Check the box for "Override automatic Cookie handling."
- Select "Accept" option for First- and Third-party Cookies.
- Select "Always allow session cookies."
- Click "OK" to save your settings.
Netscape 7 or Mozilla - PC
- Select Edit > Preferences from the Netscape menu bar.
- Click on the "Privacy & Security" heading in list on the left.
- Click on the "Cookies" sub-heading.
- "Enable all cookies" should be checked.
- Click "OK" to save your preferences.
Internet Explorer 5 - Macintosh
- Select Edit > Preferences (or Explorer > Preferences on Mac OS X) from the menu bar.
- On the left side panel of the "Preference" window select "Cookies" under "Receiving Files" subheading. The right side of the Preference window will change to display Cookie Settings.
- At the bottom of the Cookie Settings panel change the "When receiving cookies" option to say "Never Ask" or "Ask for each site" from the pull down menu.
- Click "OK" to save your preferences.
Netscape - Macintosh
- Select Edit > Preferences from the Netscape menu bar.
- In the "Preferences" window, click on the "Advanced" category.
- On the right side panel select the "Accept all cookies" option. Leave all of the option settings the same.
- Click "OK" to save your preferences.
If you have cookies enabled, try clearing your cookies. Do the following: For Internet Explorer: 1. Fully close and restart internet explorer. 2. Go to Tools > Internet Options 3. Under temporary internet files click "Delete Cookies." Click OK. 4. Go back to Swaylock's and log in. For Netscape Navigator: 1. Fully close and restart NN. 2. Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu. 3. Choose Manage Stored Cookies. 4. Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies. 5. Go back to Swaylock's and log in.
